ATELIER SERIES No.1 "Fight The Empire"
The Boonta Modelling Atelier Series - Exceptionally ambitious scale model artworks only.
“Throughout the rule of the Empire, vessels of the Imperial Navy regularly darkened the skies of occupied worlds, a constant reminder of the Empire’s galaxy-wide grip, both above the clouds and on the ground below.Resistance was often futile. Acts of defiance were swiftly crushed beneath the overwhelming might of the Imperial war machine. But there were exceptions.
For years, the looming presence of the Imperial Star Destroyer Intruder cast a shadow over Kenari. Its crew brought fear and destruction to the planet and was responsible for countless atrocities against its native population.
In an extraordinary act of courage and determination, the Intruder was severely damaged in orbit above Kenari by a small group of indigenous teenagers. Their attack became an unlikely testament to the strength of compassion and humanity against the tyranny of the Empire.
Inspired by a spark of rebellion first kindled on Ferrix, the group reportedly stormed the destroyer’s main engine bay shouting, “Fight the Empire!” before detonating a device they had constructed in secret.
This build is dedicated to them.”
1/1 Hand Made Art Piece
As the inaugural work of the new Atelier Series, this one-of-a-kind model marks the beginning of a collection dedicated to exceptional, individually crafted pieces, making it a particularly unique work for collectors.
I had wanted to create a crashed Imperial Star Destroyer scene for a long time. In search of an unusual setting for a ship of such immense scale, the idea emerged to place the wreck deep within a forest, its monumental form almost swallowed by the landscape.
The greatest challenge was the forest itself. At this scale, conventional model trees were simply too large. Taking inspiration from the inventive practical model-making of Star Wars: Episode I, the entire forest was instead constructed from more than 2.000 individual cotton swabs, selected in varying shapes and sizes. Each tree was individually painted and placed by hand, creating a dense landscape at a scale appropriate to the enormous vessel.
Within the wreck, nine flickering LEDs simulate fires still burning deep inside the ship. Their subtle, irregular glow brings a sense of life to an otherwise silent scene and transforms the piece when illuminated, particularly when displayed on a wall.
Features:
Unique 1/1 hand made Art Piece (Atelier Series No.1)
